Adrienne trains both hunter and jumper horses and riders, from beginners to A Circuit competitors. With experience in local and national competition spanning over many years, Adrienne provides a unique training experience.
Phoenix Carver is a USDF Bronze medalist with riding achievement awards from USDF for Training Level through 2nd Level Dressage. She has been a certified instructor since 2004 with the American Riding Instructors Association in Advanced Dressage & Recreational Riding. Phoenix emphasizes strong basics in every lesson and clear understanding of Dressage Theory for her students to achieve optimal results with their horses. Kimberly Monk has been a big influence on Phoenix, supporting her in becoming a competitive, certified, Dressage Instructor nearly 20 years ago and helping her achieve 1st place in San Diego and Temecula Counties CDS Circuit Series, 2nd Level and 6th place at USDF Regionals in 2022. Phoenix has been Training in the North San Diego area since 2006. She is passionate about teaching proper horsemanship and encourages her clients to have a sense of humor while they develop their own Dressage abilities, refine their sportsmanship and build their character while learning to be their horses’ biggest advocate.
Lewis Azar is an FEI Dressage rider and trainer based in San Marcos, California. He earned his USDF Bronze medal at the age of 15, and the following year spent a season training and competing in Wellington, FL - where he competed in his first CDI. In 2017, he made the move to San Diego from Kentucky to work for David Blake and Rebecca Rigdon. For the next 6 years, he received an invaluable education as their assistant trainer- riding horses of all levels, from 3 years old to Grand Prix under their tutelage, as well as riding with Christine Traurig and Guenter Seidel. In addition to riding and competing, Lewis also has experience coaching students from Training Level to FEI.
FVF is fortunate to have several top level Eventing trainers come to our facility on a regular basis!

Our lesson horses are well taken care of and available for you to learn how to ride! Our instructors will teach you horsemanship skills. You will learn how to groom and care for your horse as well as ride!
In addition to the resident trainers, the FVF lesson program has instructors who are excellent at teaching. Our lesson horses have their own barn and tack room and the instructors AND the horses love to teach!
